This beautiful and calm oasis in the center of Paris offers a secluded and tranquil sanctuary for lovers of art, history and haute cuisine.

A relatively new address, set on the border of the 8th and 17th arrondissements, LE CAMONDO has opened its doors within the eponymous museum, just next to Parc Monceau and is the perfect place to find food for both your body and soul.

Located within the old residence of the Camondo family – founders of a bank and one of the richest families of the Ottoman Empire of the 19th century – this place is an exquisite combination of museum, restaurant, bar, and a beautiful terrasse. After a breezy lunch, true connoisseurs can retreat to the galleries surrounding the dining establishment and browse the musee Nissim de Camondo, which hosts a selection of art and paintings painstakingly collected by Nissin’s father, Moïse de Camondo, and donated to the French government after his son’s tragic death during the First World War.

In essence, a historical place with a captivating story behind it, and the perfect cultured respite for those who need to run from Parisian summer madness.

Perfect for: A summer day lunch in the company of your favorite book. The restaurant also serves  a classic Sunday brunch en terrasse during the summer season, from July to September.

What to order: Start with Smoked tune from Île d’Yeu, then order the delicious Scallops with truffle, hais & comté – and don’t forget to try the Chef’s speciality madeleines.

Address: 61 bis, rue de Monceau, Paris 8th arrondissement (Google Maps).
