A Weekend with Pâtisserie All-Stars
A Parisian weekend with the crème de la crème of the dessert world.
Those who have a sweet tooth – and are lucky enough to be in the French capital this weekend – are in for a treat. In a delectable one-off, this 8th and 9th of June, the desserts of Cédric Grolet - from Alain Ducasse’s Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant Le Meurice - will be available for takeaway by the public via pop-up shop in the 1eme.
If you love pastry, you will have heard of Grolet - the young dessert fusion chef, head pâtissier at Le Meurice – and recently named ‘The World’s Best Pastry Chef’ at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Ceremony 2018.
This is your chance to taste some of his creations on the go.
This gastronomic event du jour will see a selection of sweet treats made available for takeaway from a former meeting room transformed into a store open onto the rue de Castiglione; with each delicacy made-to-order and from scratch by the team of Ducasse and Grolet as you watch the magic happen right in front of you from the open kitchen.
The five fantastical recipes which will be up for grabs on this occasion are the following:
Chocolate & cocoa from the Manufacture of Alain Ducasse
Coconut & pepper crowns
Roasted strawberries, oats & basil
Tangy lemon tangy & tequila sorbet with marjoram
Kopi Luwak coffee, crispy gavotte
It goes without saying – but it’s first in, first served – so get there at noon, before there’s a crowd, to make sure you don’t miss out!

Whether it’s the Grand Bistro, Bar à Huîtres, or the string of trattorias he’s known for; such as The Little Italy, The Brooklyn Pizzeria and Manhattan Terrazza; one thing is for sure — restaurateur Garry Dorr knows his stuff — and with his latest outpost ‘Madison Caffe’, he’s done it again and is onto a winner.
Sweet-tooth, pastry (and bread-eating) people — rejoice. After weeks of teasing on Instagram, Cédric Grolet — rising culinary star & executive pastry chef at the French five-star hotel, Le Meurice — has (finally) announced the opening date of his very first bakery, in Paris.
