A contemporary brand refresh to refine the flagship charity event of the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS), a specialist, non-profit organisation which for more than 25 years has been helping refugees heal from trauma and rebuild their lives in Australia.
Uniting the powerful legacy of an iconic human rights event with delicate design to forge an inspirational brand.
Tasked with delivering a unique symbol which sponsors and patrons would associate with this globally-respected industry gala, we set out to craft a trademark which would represent the Refugee Ball in its own right, but was also still strongly linked to its supporting organisations (STARTTS and Friends of STARTTS).
The result was a refined and minimalist logo, created by softening the lines of the trademark STARTTS bird to form the figure of a dancer, with an elegant custom calligraphy font chosen to convey the sophistication of the annual black-tie event.
